Summary

Victory Preparatory Academy Middle State Charter S is a public charter middle school located in Commerce City, Colorado, serving 170 students in grades 6-8. The school is part of the State Charter School Institute district, which is ranked 50 out of 115 districts in Colorado and has a 3-star rating.

Victory Preparatory Academy faces significant challenges, with consistently low academic performance on CMAS (Colorado Measures of Academic Success) tests, where it underperforms both the State Charter School Institute and Colorado state averages across all grades and subjects. For example, in 2024-2025, only 19.4% of Victory Preparatory Academy students were proficient or better in CMAS Math, compared to 28.6% for the district and 35.9% for the state. The school also has higher dropout rates and chronic absenteeism rates than the state average.

While Victory Preparatory Academy outperforms some of the lowest-performing nearby schools, such as Adams City Middle School and Kearney Middle School, it lags behind many of the higher-performing charter and public schools in the area, including McAuliffe Manual Middle School, DSST: Montview Middle School, and Denver Green School Northfield. The school's declining statewide ranking over the years is a concerning trend that warrants further investigation and intervention to improve student outcomes.

Open Quote School cares only about test scores not the kids they have test day every Friday and have learning packets over all breaks and holidays. Children are always worried about their success and there is no time for socialization. There are no activities for the children outside of recess and there are alot of bullying issues. The Principal only concerned about one thing and that is his test scores and how much money he makes. Close Quote
