Summary:

Littleton School District No. 6 serves 12 elementary schools — mostly K-5, plus two K-8 schools (Littleton Academy and Littleton Prep Charter School) and two PK-5 schools (Hopkins Elementary School and Centennial Academy of Fine Arts Education) — in a top-rated Colorado district that ranks 8th out of 115 districts. Collectively the schools enroll about 5,594 students, and as a group they significantly outperform state averages in English Language Arts (60.4% vs. 44.7%), math (57.5% vs. 37.3%), and science (48.2% vs. 36.1%), with much lower chronic absenteeism (11.1% vs. 28.4%).

A few schools are clear standouts. Littleton Academy leads the district with the highest ELA proficiency (77.2%), third-highest math (68.7%), and the lowest chronic absenteeism (2.6%), while Lois Lenski Elementary School and Wilder Elementary School also earn 5-star ratings with math proficiency near 70% and very low poverty rates. Sandburg Elementary School made the biggest improvement — jumping to the district’s highest math score (73.4%) — and Little Raven Elementary School also improved across ELA, math, and science. Meanwhile, Ford Elementary School stands out for exceptional 5th-grade ELA (81.2%) despite weaker earlier grades.

At the other end, Field Elementary School faces the greatest challenges: 1-star rating, lowest proficiency in every subject (ELA and math at 28.6%, science at 15.0%), highest chronic absenteeism (30.1%), and the highest poverty rate (73.9% FRL). Centennial Academy of Fine Arts Education also struggles, with science below the state average. The clear pattern across the district is that schools with higher poverty and absenteeism — especially Field and Centennial — post much lower scores than affluent, low-absenteeism schools like Wilder and Littleton Academy. A lower student-teacher ratio doesn’t guarantee success: Field has the lowest ratio (12.2:1) but the weakest results, while Sandburg has the highest ratio (20.2:1) and leads in math. For parents, the district offers excellent options at the top, but the gap between the highest- and lowest-performing schools remains the biggest concern.
