The 15 schools listed in zip code 95127 include eight elementary schools, six high schools and one alternative school, with no middle schools; Adelante Dual Language Academy serves K–8, Foothill High serves grades 11–12, and most high schools serve grades 9–12. Five schools have no 2025–2026 test scores in the supplied data. The central takeaway is that school results vary widely: the elementary/K–8 average is below state results in every subject, while high-school outcomes range from a strong showing at KIPP to very low 11th-grade results at Foothill.

KIPP Navigate College Prep is the clearest high-school standout, with 68% proficiency in ELA, 56% in math and 33% in science. That compares with 50% ELA and 17% math at Mt. Pleasant High, and 41% ELA and 16% math at James Lick High. At the other end, Foothill’s 11th-grade ELA, math and science results are all 0%. Among elementary and K–8 schools, Adelante leads with 47% ELA, 41% math and 38% science. The group averages are 30%, 25% and 21%, respectively—about 20, 13 and 15 percentage points below state results. Thomas P. Ryan Elementary has the lowest all-grades ELA and math results, at 17% and 14%; Robert Sanders Elementary has the lowest science result, at 12%.

Recent changes are mixed: KIPP improved by 9 points in ELA, 26 in math and 6 in science, and Adelante rose by 7, 4 and 16 points; Millard McCollam Elementary fell by 8, 7 and 11 points. Across 12 schools with scores in both years, average ELA was essentially flat, while math and science each rose about 3 points. Attendance adds another contrast: chronic absenteeism was 11% at KIPP, 35% at James Lick and 83% at Foothill, versus 18% statewide. KIPP’s student-teacher ratio was 11.8:1, compared with 20.8:1 at Mt. Pleasant High. Their free/reduced lunch eligible shares were similar in 2024–2025—76% at KIPP and 77% at Foothill—alongside very different test results; this is context, not an explanation. SchoolDigger’s statewide percentile ranking rose from 65 to 78 for KIPP and fell from 63 to 33 for Millard; rankings are a separate measure from test-score changes.
