Four high schools serve ZIP code 93536: Quartz Hill High, Lancaster High and SOAR High (Students On Academic Rise) serve grades 9–12, while Academies of the Antelope Valley serves grades 6–12. The area’s results vary widely by school and subject: the four-school average is above the state in ELA but below it in math, and reported science results are also below state levels. The clearest overall standout is SOAR, with the highest reported ELA and math results and strong graduation and attendance indicators.
SOAR leads the group in all-grades ELA at 94% and math at 67%, compared with the next-highest results at Quartz Hill, 53% and 26%—gaps of 40 and 40 percentage points, respectively. SOAR is also 44 points above the state in ELA and 28 points above in math. Recent changes favor the group in ELA and math, but not in reported science: the average ELA result rose from 53% to 57%, while the math average climbed from 20% to 31%, narrowing its state gap from 17 to 7 points. The average science result among schools with scores fell from 23% to 17%, and its state gap widened from 10 to 19 points. SOAR also rose from the 95th to the 98th percentile in SchoolDigger’s statewide rankings and earned five stars; its 2025–26 rank is 37th of 2,137 schools.
