Lancaster High is a public grades 9–12 school serving 2,688 students in the Antelope Valley, within the Antelope Valley Union High district. In 2025–2026, SchoolDigger ranked it at the 28th percentile statewide and gave it 1 star. Its test scores were below both state and district averages in English, math and science; the biggest concern is math, where the score was 12% compared with 38% statewide.

Among nearby district schools with reported scores, Lancaster was in the middle: fourth of six in English and math, and third of five in science. It scored below SOAR High (Students On Academic Rise), Quartz Hill High and Academies of the Antelope Valley in English and math, but above Antelope Valley High and Desert Winds Continuation High. Graduation was a brighter spot: Lancaster’s 89% rate was above the state’s 88% and the district’s 85%. Attendance remains a concern, with chronic absenteeism at 30%, compared with 18% statewide and 28% in the district.

Scores have not kept pace with state gains: from 2022–2023 to 2025–2026, Lancaster’s English result fell by about 1 point, while math rose 2 points and science 1 point; the state’s scores rose more in all three subjects. Its ranking for English Language Learner students rose from the 24th percentile in 2022–2023 to the 55th in 2023–2024, while the overall ranking changed little.
