Summary:

Zip code 92672 has five schools: four elementary schools and one middle school; [San Onofre Elementary](https://www.schooldigger.com/go/CA/schools/1350001544/school.aspx) serves kindergarten through grade 8, while the other elementary schools serve K–5 and [Shorecliffs Middle](https://www.schooldigger.com/go/CA/schools/0744000704/school.aspx) serves grades 6–8. In 2025–2026, four schools scored above the state in all three tested subjects, while one scored below it in all three. The most important finding is that results vary substantially from school to school.

[San Onofre Elementary](https://www.schooldigger.com/go/CA/schools/1350001544/school.aspx) led all-grades ELA and math, with 79% and 76% proficient; [Concordia Elementary](https://www.schooldigger.com/go/CA/schools/0744000687/school.aspx) was close behind at 76% and 71%. San Onofre’s leads over Concordia were 3 percentage points in ELA and 5 in math, but Concordia led science with 66%, compared with Shorecliffs’ 65% and San Onofre’s 47%. [Clarence Lobo Elementary](https://www.schooldigger.com/go/CA/schools/0744003373/school.aspx) was lowest in all three subjects, at 36% in ELA, 36% in math and 28% in science; its results were 17, 15 and 19 points below the next-lowest school, respectively. [Las Palmas Elementary](https://www.schooldigger.com/go/CA/schools/0744000693/school.aspx) and Shorecliffs were above state results in each subject, while Lobo was below.

Recent changes were mixed: Shorecliffs improved in ELA, math and science by 3, 7 and 12 points, while Lobo fell 11 points in ELA and 8 in math. San Onofre gained 3 points in ELA and 5 in math but dropped 14 in science. SchoolDigger’s 2025–2026 statewide rankings also placed San Onofre highest at the 96th percentile, followed by Concordia at the 92nd, Shorecliffs at the 85th, Las Palmas at the 71st and Lobo at the 42nd. As context, 2024–2025 free/reduced lunch eligible shares ranged from 26% at Concordia to 63% at San Onofre; these figures describe student populations, not the reasons for results. Shorecliffs had the highest student-teacher ratio, 19.8 was the lowest at Shorecliffs? No: Shorecliffs’ ratio was 19.8, while Concordia’s was 26.6. Shorecliffs also had 24% chronic absenteeism in 2025–2026, above the state’s 18%, despite its improving scores.
