Summary:

Elementary schools in ZIP code 92123 include seven schools serving 2,230 students: five serve kindergarten through grade 5, while Elevate and Innovations Academy serve kindergarten through grade 8. In 2024–2025, the average across the seven schools was 54% in ELA, 46% in math, and 39% in science, compared with state results of 49%, 37%, and 33%. But school results varied widely: the gap between the highest and lowest school was 47 points in ELA, 38 in math, and 38 in science. The most important takeaway is that area averages are not a reliable guide to any one school’s results; compare schools by subject.

Elevate led the 2024–2025 group in ELA at 79% and math at 66%, and placed second in science. Innovations Academy led science at 58% and placed second in ELA and math. At the other end, Juarez Elementary had the lowest results in all three subjects: 31% in ELA, 28% in math, and 21% in science. In the latest five-school comparison, leaders differed by subject: Jones Elementary led ELA and math, while Cubberley Elementary led science.

Recent results show progress, but not evenly across subjects or schools. For the five schools with scores in both years, average science rose from 33% in 2024–2025 to 42% in 2025–2026, and math rose from 42% to 45%; ELA stayed about 47%. Juarez Elementary improved in all three subjects—by 11 points in ELA, 4 in math, and 18 in science—but its latest ELA and math results remained the lowest among those five schools. SchoolDigger ranked Jones Elementary in the 71st percentile and Juarez Elementary in the 47th for 2025–2026; these rankings offer another view of relative standing, not a substitute for subject results. The schools reported 42% to 72% free/reduced lunch eligible for 2024–2025, but the figures do not sort neatly alongside achievement: Wegeforth Elementary, at 72%, scored 49% in latest-year math, above the state’s 37%. One comparison caveat: the two K–8 schools’ all-grades results include middle-school grades, and only five schools have 2025–2026 scores.
