Schools in ZIP code 91746 include eight schools serving students from elementary through high school: four elementary schools, one middle school, two high schools and one continuation school. The clearest area-wide concern is that the average school score trails the state in all three subjects, especially science, where the gap is 16 percentage points, and math, where it is 15 points.

The schools’ strongest results differ by subject. Bassett Senior High leads All Grades ELA at 66%—17 points above the state and 30 points above the other schools’ average. Edgewood Academy leads math at 43%, 5 points above the state; its ELA is also above the state, but its science score is just 17%. J. E. Van Wig Elementary leads science at 33%, though that remains 3 points below the state. At the other end, Nueva Vista Continuation High has the lowest score in every subject—13% in ELA and 6% in both math and science, each at least 29.74 percentage points below the corresponding state figure. Its reported graduation rate is 97%, a notable contrast with its low proficiency scores.

Recent changes are mixed: the eight-school average rose 1 point in ELA, was nearly unchanged in math, and fell 2 points in science from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026. The state improved in all three subjects, so the science gap widened by about 5 points. School-level swings matter too: Bassett gained 10 points in ELA but lost 13 in science, while Puente Hills High fell 8 points in ELA and 6 in math.
