Santa Teresa Elementary serves 542 students in grades K–6 in San Jose, among a group of nearby elementary schools that offers useful local comparisons. Its 2025–26 results show a sharp split: 63% of students were proficient in math, compared with 36% in science. The most important takeaway is that math is a standout, while science has become a relative weakness.

Math is Santa Teresa’s strongest subject: its 63% proficiency rate was the highest among eight nearby same-district K–6 schools, whose average was 47%; it was also above the district’s 44% and the state’s 38%. ELA was strong too, at 61%—second among those nearby schools and above the district’s 48% and state’s 49%.
