Maxson Elementary in El Monte, California, serves grades K–6 and enrolls 433 students in the Mountain View Elementary District. The clearest concern is sixth grade: in 2025–26, 26% of sixth graders were proficient in English language arts, compared with 48% statewide and 36% districtwide; in math, 21% were proficient, compared with 37% statewide and 24% districtwide.
