Summary

J. C. Crumpton Elementary is a K-6 public school serving 562 students in Marina, part of the Monterey Peninsula Unified school district, and it stands out as a school on a strong and consistent upward trend in academic performance.

The school has shown remarkable improvement, climbing from a statewide ranking in the 24th percentile to the 57th percentile over the past several years. Academically, it consistently outperforms the district average, with science being a particular area of excellence—its 42.86% proficiency rate is significantly higher than both the district and state. The school also demonstrates notable effectiveness with several student subgroups and has made an impressive recovery in student attendance since the pandemic.
