Leadership & Public Service Virtual Academy is a K–12 alternative school in Los Angeles, serving 573 students in Los Angeles Unified. Its latest test results show improvement, especially in math, but the most important concern is that those gains sit alongside very high chronic absenteeism and a low graduation rate: 80% of students were chronically absent in 2025–2026, and the graduation rate was 66%.

Math is the school’s clearest strength against nearby schools, the district, and the state. In 2025–2026, 47% of students met proficiency in math, compared with 40% in the district and 38% statewide; it ranked first among itself and eight nearby schools with same-year results. Math and science have moved from below the state level to above it, while ELA remains slightly below. The school also has the highest reported student-teacher ratio among nearby schools for 2024–2025, at 27.1 students per teacher; the next-highest was 22.1.
