Winchester Elementary is a K–5 school in Winchester, California, with 692 students in the Hemet Unified district. Its results vary by subject: in 2025–26, 42% of students were proficient in English language arts (ELA), compared with 23% in math and 20% in science. The main concern is that math and science proficiency trails nearby K–5 schools by a wide margin, even though ELA is close to their average.

ELA is the school’s strongest subject relative to its comparisons: 42% proficiency was about 1 percentage point below the nearby-school average of 43%, 6 points above the district’s 36%, and 7 points below the state’s 49%. Seriously underrated!! This school has been great for our daughter and son. The teachers are great and very involved. This school’s quality is only going to improve as the path of progress in Winchester/Hemet continues to attract new families who want to be homeowners in the area!
