Summary

Day Creek Intermediate is a top-performing middle school serving 1,326 students in grades 6-8 within the highly-regarded Etiwanda Elementary district in Southern California, consistently ranking in the top 4% of all state middle schools.

The school's academic results are exceptional, with students scoring significantly higher in English, math, and science than both the district and state averages. What truly sets Day Creek apart is its remarkable success with all student groups, including English learners and students from low-income families, ranking in the 99th or 100th percentile for these populations statewide. Furthermore, the school maintains a very low chronic absenteeism rate of just 7.2%, which is about half the rate of some other local middle schools like Heritage Intermediate and Etiwanda Intermediate, indicating a highly engaged student body and supportive school environment.

Day Creek achieves these outstanding results efficiently, with per-student spending and class sizes similar to other schools. It outperforms not only schools in neighboring districts but also its peers within the same high-performing Etiwanda Elementary district, such as Summit Intermediate. This consistent, decade-long excellence across all grades suggests the school has developed particularly effective teaching practices and support systems that benefit every student who attends.

Open Quote The Vice principal and staff at Day Creek Intermediate do nothing to stop or prevent bullying at this school. In fact, the Bullies are rewarded, and the victims are treated poorly and unfair. The type of behavior allowed to go on at this school is absurd. There are adolescence taking their own lives everyday due to being bullied by their peers. You would think that the school would shed light on their students and that the faculty would undergo proper training to be able to handle these situations.
This creates a hostile learning environment and does not deter bullies from starting fights in the future because there is NO PUNISHMENT. The school and The Vice Principal Ms. Vander Lann do not follow the California anti-bullying law and the policy of the Etiwanda school district for suspension. I Strongly encourage the California board of education takes note of the school and faculties incompetence and develop a program for suicide prevention. Close Quote

Open Quote Absolutely Awesome school to put any students any kind. All the teachers here at DCIS are super nice and friendly! They will help your child in anyway. The staff is also great here. The PE staff here is awesome! They are always fun to be around! My child loves coming to DCIS each and every morning! They don't say anything bad about this school! Close Quote
