Summary

Park Dale Lane Elementary is a K-6 public school serving 424 students in the high-performing Encinitas Union Elementary district, consistently earning a 4-star rating and outperforming California state averages in all academic subjects.

While the school is strong by statewide standards, it performs below the average for its own exceptional district, particularly when compared to top-tier neighbors like El Camino Creek Elementary and Olivenhain Pioneer Elementary. This difference is seen alongside a higher percentage of students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds compared to most other schools in the district, a profile it shares most closely with nearby Ocean Knoll Elementary. The school has made excellent progress improving student attendance, significantly reducing chronic absenteeism since 2022.

Performance varies by grade, with sixth graders excelling in English and the school showing a relative strength in science. However, there are notable performance gaps between different student subgroups, and scores for economically disadvantaged students have shown recent volatility. With mid-range per-student spending for the area, the school's resources and student-teacher ratio are favorable. The stark contrast with the exceptionally high-spending R. Roger Rowe Elementary in the adjacent Rancho Santa Fe Elementary district highlights how educational resources and outcomes can differ dramatically even between nearby communities.

Open Quote Such a warm and caring environment for my children -- we have been very happy with our experience here. It has been great to see my kids' skills progress while also cultivating a love of reading and learning. The PTA is super active and raises the funds for the science program which is top notch. In addition the TRAC (Teambuilding, Regulation, Awareness, and Communication) program teaches the students kindness and good citizenship. It is a truly special place Close Quote
