McKinley Elementary serves 456 students in kindergarten through sixth grade in El Centro, in the Imperial Valley, and is part of the El Centro Elementary district. Its academic results are uneven: math is a relative bright spot compared with nearby schools, while ELA and science proficiency are below state averages.

Math is McKinley’s strongest subject locally: 34% of students were proficient in 2025–26, compared with 31% in the district and 38% statewide, placing it third among 10 same-district schools.
