Summary

Amy B. Seibert Elementary is a K-6 public school serving 628 students in Bakersfield, California, within the Panama-Buena Vista Union school district, but it is currently facing significant academic challenges, ranking in the lowest 6th percentile of all California schools.

The school's test scores are well below state averages, with particular struggles in mathematics where only 13.26% of students are proficient, and it has seen a steady decline in its statewide ranking over the past several years. While chronic student absenteeism has improved from pandemic highs, it remains above average, and the school shows inconsistent results in supporting English learners and students with special needs. Notably, Louise Sandrini Elementary and Stine Elementary, other schools in the same district located nearby, perform significantly better.

Perhaps the most striking comparison is with W. A. Kendrick Elementary, a school just over 1.5 miles away in the Greenfield Union district that serves a similar student population but ranks in the 78th percentile with much higher proficiency rates. This indicates that improvement is possible, and the school's higher per-student spending suggests a need to examine how resources are used to support instruction, especially in upper-grade math and science.

Open Quote Let it be known that this school has not only become a more academic back-bone structured with much improvements in all areas. It is very obvious to be a very good atmosphere for a child that needs that one on one connection with their teachers, and not to leave out a great office ..Miss Cindy and Miss Stacey ! I have observed almost all the teachers and see a strong well balanced structure eager to teach and improve the standards of their students and the RAIDER school!! I MUST mention some that stand out are Mrs.Vito, Mrs.MILLER, Mr.Pola, Miss.Lamb.......and Many more!! Very noticed and in charge and running a tight ship with a stand tall and proud to be at the helm of all the RAIDERS is MRS.SOMES Principal and much more deserves all GOOD that comes her way for making a good future for a good , very much improved school= AMY B.
