Summary

Dallas Ranch Middle serves 795 students in grades 6–8 in Antioch, within Antioch Unified. In 2025–2026, 31% of students were proficient in English Language Arts/Literacy (ELA), 14% in math, and 17% in science. The most important finding for families is that the school does better than its closest district peers in some subjects, but remains well below California’s proficiency levels in all three.

Among 11 nearby middle schools, Dallas Ranch ranked sixth in ELA and tied for fifth in math and science. It had the highest ELA and math proficiency rates among the three nearby Antioch Unified middle schools, and the second-highest science rate. In 2024–2025, its student-teacher ratio was 23.8, near the high end of the nearby range of 21.0–24.0. That year, 78% of students were free/reduced lunch eligible, above the 72% average among nearby schools reporting that same measure. SchoolDigger’s effectiveness ranking for English Language Learner Students fell from the 62nd percentile in 2022–2023 to the 22nd in 2023–2024; its ranking for Military Connected Students rose from the 9th percentile in 2021–2022 to the 40th in 2022–2023.
