Summary

Collett Elementary is a public elementary school in Riverside, California, serving 439 students in grades K-5. It is part of the Alvord Unified School District, which is ranked 1131 out of 1565 districts in the state.

Collett Elementary has consistently underperformed compared to the district and state averages in academic assessments, with only 30.99% of students proficient or better in English Language Arts/Literacy and 24.88% in Mathematics, compared to 38.13% and 24.18% for the district, and 48.81% and 37.3% for the state. The school's performance is particularly low for specific student subgroups, such as Hispanic students and English Language Learners. Additionally, Collett Elementary has a high chronic absenteeism rate, ranging from 20.4% to 27.2% over the past few years, which is significantly higher than the state average.

While Collett Elementary has a relatively high per-student spending of around $21,000, the nearby Twinhill Elementary, Valley View Elementary, and Myra Linn Elementary schools within the Alvord Unified School District generally outperform Collett Elementary in academic assessments, suggesting that the school may not be effectively utilizing its resources to improve student outcomes. The combination of low academic performance, high chronic absenteeism, and high socioeconomic disadvantage among the student population at Collett Elementary indicates that the school faces significant challenges in providing a quality education and supporting student success.

Open Quote They don't care about the people who live in the surrounding fence, the teachers aren'tw watching the students at recess, I have video, they allow children to harass dogs by kicking the fence. As well as throwing items in the yard. Now the school didn't think we'll we should let the people know that we will be doing some construction so it may wake your sleeping babies or the irate mother who has been up all night. Nope instead let's yell and rev the engine of the truck. Thank you for having courtesy for your neighbors, I will never send my children here just because of the lack of respect for the neighbors.
