Summary

Dublin High is a large, high-performing public high school serving grades 9-12 to approximately 2,771 students in the competitive Tri-Valley area within the Dublin Unified School District, consistently ranking in the top 5% of all California high schools.

The school's greatest strengths are its outstanding graduation rate (over 97%), very low dropout rate (~1%), and strong overall academic proficiency that exceeds state averages. It maintains these excellent results even with lower per-student spending compared to newer district schools like Emerald High. However, two significant areas stand out for attention: chronic absenteeism is notably higher (13.3%) than at neighboring high schools such as Dougherty Valley High and Amador Valley High, and recent data shows a concerning, sharp decline in the academic effectiveness of its Special Education program.

While Dublin High competes favorably with other top-ranked local schools academically, families should be aware of its mathematics proficiency being slightly below the Dublin Unified district average and the performance volatility for some student subgroups. The school's long-term trajectory remains one of elite performance, but these specific challenges in attendance and specialized support are important factors for parents to consider.

Open Quote Dublin High has been a terrific experience for my older daughter - offering challenging academics and a wide variety of extracurricular activities. My daughter to seeking to attend a top UC school so Dublin High's new Advanced Scholar Diploma and Advanced Placement (AP) courses are going to help her get there. She has also been very active in Dublin High's Drama program as well as the school choir, both have been excellent. What we've like the best of all, however, is the positive school spirit that is making her high school life happy and memorable. Close Quote
