Summary

Krystal School of Science Math & Technology is a standout public elementary school (grades K-6) serving 912 students in Hesperia, CA, consistently achieving high academic results despite being part of the lower-performing Hesperia Unified district.

The school dramatically outperforms both its district and the state in English, math, and science, and it maintains exceptionally low chronic absenteeism compared to nearby schools like Cottonwood Elementary and Lime Street Elementary. It shows particular strength in supporting English Language Learners and students from low-income families, achieving these strong results with funding similar to other schools in the area, indicating efficient use of resources.

While the charter school LaVerne Elementary Preparatory Academy scores slightly higher, Krystal serves nearly twice as many students. The school's consistent 4-star rating over the past decade, even during pandemic challenges, demonstrates a resilient and effective learning environment focused on science, math, and technology.

Open Quote The schools drop off and pick up are poorly planned and lead to aggressive drivers. The principle lacks the knowledge to be able to keep the flow of traffic moving thereby making the experience a long and trying one. Academics appear to be average but the drop off and pick up are so atrocious that the school warranted a average rating. Close Quote
