Summary

Mesa Grande Elementary is a K–6 school serving 715 students in Hesperia, California. Its 2025–26 test results are mixed: English language arts and math are close to nearby-school averages, while science stands out as a clear concern. The most important finding is that science proficiency was just 8%, the school’s lowest subject result and second-lowest among the nine nearby schools with comparable results.

In 2025–26, Mesa Grande’s ELA proficiency was 25% and math was 17%, both slightly above nearby-school averages of 24% and 16%, respectively. Science did rise to 11% in 2024–25 before dropping again. Chronic absenteeism improved from 59% in 2021–22 to 38% in 2025–26, but remained above the district’s 32% and state’s 18%.
