Summary:

Oroville City Elementary has six schools in the Oroville area: four serving kindergarten through grade 5, one serving grades 5–8, and one serving grades 6–8. In 2025–2026, all six schools were below California’s all-grades proficiency results in English language arts (ELA), math, and science; the six-school averages trailed the state by 22 percentage points in ELA, 18 points in math, and 12 points in science. The central takeaway for families is that no school in the supplied results reached the state benchmark, though the size of the gap varied considerably.

Ophir Elementary led the all-grades results in all three subjects, while The Studios @ Central was lowest in each. Ophir had 33% proficiency in ELA, 32% in math, and 33% in science; The Studios had 18%, 8%, and 10%, respectively. Ishi Hills Middle also compared favorably with The Studios across their overlapping middle-school grades: it led in ELA in grades 6, 7, and 8, and in math in grades 6 and 8, though The Studios was ahead in grade 7 math. Wyandotte Academy stood out among the elementary schools, ranking second in all-grades ELA and math.

Group results improved only modestly from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026: the six-school averages rose about 1 point in ELA, 1 point in math, and 4 points in science. Those averages mask sharp differences: The Studios’ science result fell 13 points, while Oakdale Heights Elementary rose 16 points and Ishi Hills rose 15. SchoolDigger’s 2025–2026 statewide percentiles ranged from the 5th for The Studios to the 36th for Ophir; Wyandotte was at the 27th. As context, all schools reported the same measure, free/reduced lunch eligible, for 2024–2025: rates ranged from 65% at Ophir to 82% at Wyandotte, which nonetheless had stronger all-grades ELA and math results than Stanford Avenue Elementary.
