The 22 schools in Marysville Joint Unified include 14 elementary schools, three middle schools, four high schools and one alternative school. In 2025–26, their unweighted average proficiency was 36% in ELA, 23% in math and 22% in science, compared with state results of 49%, 38% and 36%. The main takeaway is that most schools were below state proficiency: only four exceeded the state in ELA, three in math and two in science.
Browns Valley Elementary stands out across all three subjects, leading the list with 64% in ELA, 65% in math and 52% in science—15, 26 and 16 points above state results. Loma Rica Elementary is also among the strongest, ranking second in ELA and math; Marysville Charter Academy for the Arts has the strongest high-school ELA and science results. Covillaud Elementary is a math exception at 43%, above the state’s 38%. At the low end, Cedar Lane Elementary has the lowest ELA result, 14% (35 points below state); South Lindhurst Continuation High has the lowest math result, 2% (37 points below); and Ella Elementary has the lowest science result, 6% (30 points below).
Recent movement is mixed: the ELA school average edged up from 35% to 36%, while math slipped slightly and its gap from state widened from 14 to 16 points; the science gap also widened, from 10 to 13 points. SchoolDigger’s statewide percentile ranking rose for Loma Rica (51 to 68) and Marysville High (37 to 53), but fell for Yuba Feather Elementary (29 to 7). Other measures add context without forming a simple pattern: for 2024–25, reported free/reduced lunch eligible shares ranged from 39% at Browns Valley to 90% at Cedar Lane, while smaller schools included both strong and weaker performers. Because schools serve different grade spans, All Grades results are broad comparisons rather than grade-matched ones.
