Summary:

The five schools in Keppel Union Elementary serve grades K–8. In 2025–2026, their equal-weight average proficiency was 23% in English language arts (ELA), 15% in math and 13% in science, compared with 49%, 38% and 36% statewide. The most important finding for families is that every school scored below the state in all three subjects, even the local leader in each.

Pearblossom Elementary led the group in ELA at 28% and math at 21%; those results were 5 and 8 percentage points above the other four schools’ averages, respectively. Antelope Elementary stood out in science at 19%, 8 points above the other schools’ average, but had the lowest ELA and math results, at 20% and 11%. Lake Los Angeles Elementary had the lowest science result, 8%. SchoolDigger’s statewide rankings also put Pearblossom highest among these schools, at the 25th percentile, and Antelope lowest, at the 1st; the others ranked from the 4th to the 8th percentile.

Results moved in different directions from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026: the five-school ELA average rose by 2 percentage points, while math fell by 1 and science by 2. The group’s gap with the state narrowed in ELA by 2 points, but widened in math by 2 and science by 5. Grade-level results add important exceptions: Pearblossom’s grade 8 proficiency was 8% in ELA and 4% in math, despite its strong all-grades standing, while Antelope reached 31% in grade 8 science. As context, all schools reported a free/reduced lunch eligible measure for 2024–2025, ranging from 53% at Antelope to 77% at Daisy Gibson Elementary; these figures describe the schools and do not explain their test results.
