Summary:
The 12 elementary schools in ZIP code 85705 serve different grade spans, so overall results are not perfectly comparable; comparing schools at the same grade can give families a clearer picture. In 2025–26, the 11 schools with reported English language arts (ELA) scores averaged 28% proficiency, compared with 41% statewide, while the nine with reported math scores averaged 20%, compared with 33% statewide. Most importantly, no school with reported all-grades results reached the state proficiency rate in either subject.
Roskruge Bilingual Magnet Middle School led all-grades ELA at 36%, but was still 5 points below the state rate. Academy of Mathematics and Science South and Centennial Elementary tied for the top all-grades math result at 25% each, 8 points below the state. At the other end, E C Nash School had the lowest reported all-grades results: 16% in ELA and 9% in math. Grade-level results add important exceptions: Homer Davis Elementary School led reported third-grade ELA at 44%, above the grade’s 39% state rate, while Academy of Mathematics and Science South led fifth-grade math at 45%, above the 38% state rate.
SchoolDigger’s statewide rank percentiles show mixed movement, not a consistent area-wide trend: among five schools with comparable snapshots, the average rose from 22 to 23; Douglas Elementary School gained 10 points and Roskruge gained 8, while Academy of Mathematics and Science South and Centennial each fell 7. Similar measures do not neatly predict results: the four K–6 schools have student–teacher ratios from 14.4 to 15.6, yet their all-grades ELA results span 27% to 34% and math spans 18% to 25%. Grade-specific scores can also differ sharply from a school’s overall results; Roskruge, for example, led all-grades ELA but recorded 13% in sixth-grade math, compared with the state’s 30%. Grade spans differ, and some figures are suppressed or unavailable.
