Summary:
The six elementary schools in ZIP code 85298 enroll 551 to 770 students; five serve pre-K through grade 6, while Bridges Elementary School serves kindergarten through grade 6. Across the schools, average 2025–26 proficiency was 75% in English language arts (ELA) and 72% in math, compared with state rates of 41% and 33%. Even the lowest schoolwide results topped the state in both subjects. The most important finding is that Weinberg Gifted Academy leads all six schools in both subjects and in grade 5 science.
Weinberg Gifted Academy posted 91% in ELA and 87% in math, ahead of runner-up Bridges Elementary School by 14 and 8 percentage points, respectively. Weinberg also had the highest grade 5 science result, 93%, compared with Bridges’ 72%. At the other end, Riggs Elementary had the lowest all-grades results: 66% in ELA and 59% in math. Those were still 25 and 26 points above state rates. Results vary substantially across schools, with a 25-point ELA range and a 28-point math range; science spans 40 points, from Weinberg’s 93% to Charlotte Patterson Elementary’s 53%.
SchoolDigger’s statewide percentile rankings improved overall from an average of 89 in 2023–24 to 93 in 2025–26, though the average peaked at 94 in between; four schools’ percentiles rose, while Bridges stayed at 97 and Weinberg at 100. In 2025–26, SchoolDigger ranked Weinberg fourth of 900 statewide and Riggs 152nd. Grade-level results also reveal useful differences: Riggs’ grade 3 math proficiency was 37%, one point below the state’s 38%, despite its stronger all-grades result; it rose to 62% in grades 4 and 5 and 71% in grade 6. Student–teacher ratios alone do not identify the top performers: Weinberg’s was 18.5, compared with 17.7 at Bridges and 15.9 at Chandler Traditional Academy-Freedom, whose all-grades results were 76% in ELA and 72% in math. The available test scores do not establish a multi-year trend in proficiency.
