Their unweighted averages are 50% in ELA versus 41% statewide, 41% in math versus 33%, and 28% in science versus 19%. But those averages mask wide differences: school results span 12% to 74% in ELA and 11% to 65% in math. The most important takeaway is that school choice matters greatly here: area results are not representative of every school.

Arizona Agribusiness & Equine Center Inc. - Prescott Valley leads in ELA at 74%, 5 points ahead of Arizona Agribusiness & Equine Center - Estrella, which has 69%. Estrella leads in math at 65% and science at 43%, ahead of the next-highest reported schools by 9 and 6 points, respectively. Both schools exceed state results in all three subjects. At the other end, Central High School is lowest in every reported subject: 12% in ELA, 11% in math and 9% in science. Its graduation rate is 73%, compared with 80% statewide. Arizona Agribusiness & Equine Center Inc. - Mesa is also notable, with 61% in ELA and 56% in math.

SchoolDigger’s latest statewide rankings place Estrella at the 91st percentile, Prescott Valley at the 89th and Mesa at the 84th, while Central is at the 9th percentile. Across five schools with comparable ranking histories, the average percentile was 59 in both 2023–24 and 2025–26, though individual results varied: AAEC - SMCC Campus rose 13 percentile points, while Phoenix Coding Academy fell 20. Enrollment and student-teacher ratios do not show a clear pattern: Mesa has 97 students and strong ELA and math results, while Coding Academy has 224 students and a 13.8 ratio; Prescott Valley has a 21.8 ratio and higher scores. Results are missing or suppressed for some subjects, and the ranking changes are not test-score trends.
