Summary

Fees College Preparatory Middle School serves 645 students in grades 6–8 in Tempe, among a group of nearby middle and junior high schools with widely varying results. In 2025–26, 18% of students were proficient in English language arts (ELA) and 9% in math, both below district and Arizona averages. The central finding is that proficiency is low across subjects: Fees’ grade 8 science result was lower than every nearby school with a reported score.

Over the same period, Arizona’s science results rose from 27% to 30%, leaving Fees 20 percentage points behind in the latest year. SchoolDigger’s overall standing fell from the 26th percentile in 2017–18 to the 4th percentile in 2025–26, though it edged up one point from the prior year; SchoolDigger awards Fees 0 stars. One relative strength is the reported student-teacher ratio: 12.6 in 2024–25, the lowest among nine nearby schools with data. The reported free/reduced-lunch rate was 64% in 2022–23. As a student, taking geometry, the school is only succefull when it comes to geometry, we have to take 2 az merit tests, the 10th grade one and a 8th. There make us take 2 because not only is the school's rank 500 out of 700, the overall grade is failing execpt for the geometry kids. Hmmm.. I wonder why.... because we take 2 TESTS!! This school is very poor because of there unwillingness to show what the true grade is which is a low D. Close Quote
