Summary

Patterson Elementary serves 733 prekindergarten–Grade 6 students in Mesa, in the Mesa Unified District and near several other elementary schools. Its overall 2025–26 math proficiency was strong: 45%, compared with 31% districtwide and 33% statewide. But that overall result hides a sharp grade-level divide. The most important takeaway is that Patterson’s math strength is concentrated in Grades 3–4, while Grade 5 math is a notable weak spot.

Patterson’s clearest advantage is math in Grades 3–4: Grade 3 proficiency was 63%, 25 percentage points above the state, and Grade 4 was 57%, 17 points above. Both results were the highest among nearby schools with reported scores.
