Discovery School serves 601 students in kindergarten through eighth grade in Glendale, within the Glendale Elementary District. Its latest all-grades results put it well ahead of district averages and above state averages in both English Language Arts (ELA) and math. The clearest takeaway is that Discovery had the highest reported all-grades scores among nearby schools in both subjects: 46% in ELA and 42% in math.

Discovery’s advantage is especially notable in math: its 42% proficiency was 9 percentage points above the state and 19 above the district; ELA proficiency of 46% was 5 points above the state and 19 above the district. The academics and faculty at this school are phenomenal!! They have a great extra curricular activities department, great student council and good parent turn out for events. The principal is in need of an attitude adjustment, she is non responsive when problems are brought to her attention and confrontational when asked to correct mistakes, but her vice principal would do (and does do) the job wonderfully. The office as well as maintenance staff go above and beyond at all times and the teaching staff is the most dedicated group of teachers iv had the pleasure of dealing with both as a parent and also a teacher myself.
