Copper Basin Elementary School is a 557-student PK–8 school in San Tan Valley, serving families in the surrounding area. In 2025–2026, students were proficient at rates of 23% in English Language Arts (ELA) and 17% in math. SchoolDigger ranked the school 777th of 900 Arizona schools, at the 14th percentile and one star. The most important takeaway is that results were below both state and district averages in ELA and math.

Math is the school’s stronger subject relative to its comparisons, while ELA is the bigger concern. Math proficiency was 17%, compared with 18% in the Florence Unified School District and 33% statewide; ELA was 23%, versus 26% districtwide and 41% statewide. The five nearby schools in the same district averaged 19% in math and 25% in ELA, while all nine nearby schools with scores averaged 27% and 35%, respectively.
