The school has earned a 2-star rating for three consecutive years, ranking in the 44th percentile statewide—a significant improvement from its 1-star rating and 18th percentile ranking just a few years ago.

The most impressive story at Oakman is attendance. Chronic absenteeism has plummeted from 23.3% to just 2.6%—far better than the district average of 11% and dramatically better than nearby Curry Middle School (17.7%) and Sumiton Middle School (5.3%).
