Leeds High School stands out for its impressive academic performance compared to nearby schools. Perhaps most encouraging is the school's clear upward trajectory. Chronic absenteeism has been cut nearly in half, dropping from 23.4% to 11.7%—now below the state average and far better than neighbors like Clay-Chalkville (30.9%) and Shades Valley High School (23.5%). The school has also made dramatic gains for English Language Learner and Special Education students, with both subgroups jumping from the 1-star range to 3-star ratings. While performance fluctuates between male and female students from year to year, the overall picture is of a school that is effectively supporting its students and building momentum for continued success.

Open Quote Leeds high school cares more about appearance and discipline than they do about weather or not the student actually get an education. It is the most unorganized group of people I have ever seen. I feel bad for whoever has to get a diploma from that high school knowing that the past four year have been a waste of time and that they are not prepared for the real world. Close Quote
