Summary

Maple Hills Elementary is a highly-regarded K-5 public school serving about 460 students in Renton, Washington, and it stands out as a top-performing school within the exceptional Issaquah School District, which is ranked among the very best in the state.

The school consistently earns high marks, with student proficiency in English, math, and science significantly exceeding state averages, and it has maintained a 5-star rating. A key strength is its remarkable effectiveness in supporting students from all backgrounds; for instance, it has historically ranked in the 98th percentile statewide for its success with students from low-income families. While the school benefits from being part of a strong district, it also uses resources efficiently, achieving excellent results with lower per-student spending than some neighboring schools like Apollo Elementary or Carriage Crest Elementary School.

Interesting comparisons show that Maple Hills's performance is notably higher than that of geographically close schools in other districts, such as those in the Kent School District. Within its own district, it performs comparably to peers like Briarwood Elementary. Parents should note that, like several other high-performing area schools, there is a slight dip in 5th-grade math scores, which may indicate a common curriculum transition challenge. Overall, Maple Hills Elementary demonstrates a consistent, high-quality educational environment that effectively supports its students' academic achievement.

Open Quote I have two kids in this elementary school in the Issaquah School District and I love it! Great teachers, principal and staff. I have been involved with the PTA as well, and overall, there is a high level of parent involvement in the school, with many parent volunteers that basically manage and run many of the PTA programs that support the classroom instruction. We have also enjoyed the sense of community at the school and the evening activities and events, where you get to see the kids and other parents. Highly recommend this elementary school!
