Summary

Mission Early College High School is a small, high-performing public high school in El Paso, TX, serving 410 students in grades 9-12 within the Socorro Independent School District (Isd). This school consistently ranks in the top 3% of all Texas high schools, earning a 5-star rating from SchoolDigger for the 2025-2026 school year. Its academic performance is exceptional, with a 100% graduation rate and 0% dropout rate for the last five consecutive years—a record unmatched by any nearby school.

Mission Early College dramatically outperforms all neighboring schools on every state exam. For example, in English I Reading, 91.94% of Mission students passed, compared to just 46.64% at the next best school, Harmony Science Academy (El Paso). In Algebra I, Mission’s pass rate of 81.82% is 15 points higher than Del Valle High School (67.22%). The school also excels across all student subgroups, ranking in the 96th percentile or higher for Hispanic, African American, White, Special Education, and low socioeconomic status students. Notably, it spends less per student ($9,059) than most peers, including Ysleta High School ($10,080), demonstrating efficient use of resources.

One area for growth is its Gifted and Talented program, which ranks in the 60th percentile—a significant drop from the school’s overall performance. This suggests that while the early college model works exceptionally well for most students, the highest-achieving students may need additional challenges. The contrast with Options High School, another small school in the same district, is stark: Options has a 74.7% graduation rate and 16.1% dropout rate, highlighting Mission’s unique effectiveness. For parents seeking a school with proven, consistent excellence and a supportive environment, Mission Early College High School is a standout choice.

Open Quote Best school my son ever attended. He allready earned his associates degree last year and will be graduating this year from high school. He is allready attending UTEP going towards his degree in Mechanical Engeneering. Teachers and Administrators are the best. They help my son in everything he needed to accomplish his goals. Im very proud of him and the school. Mission Early College is the best. Close Quote
