This school consistently ranks among the top high schools in the state, outperforming the nearby West Mecklenburg High School, Garinger High School, and Harding University High School on various academic metrics.

Northwest School of the Arts boasts impressive academic performance, with 83.2% of students proficient or better in EOC/English II and 88.5% proficient or better in EOC/Math III, significantly outpacing the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools district and the state averages. The school's four-year graduation rates, ranging from 84.0% to 87.7%, are also consistently higher than the district and state. Open Quote Great choice if your child is a musical theatre star or in orchestra. Technical Theatre is outstanding because of the current teacher. Dance department is very weak and offers only one or two performance opportunities per year. Academics are hit or miss. Kids with special needs fall through the cracks. Close Quote
