Summary

Farnell Middle School in Tampa, FL, is a high-performing public school serving 1,184 students in grades 6-8 within the Hillsborough County School District, and it stands out for its exceptional academic results and low economic disadvantage rate of just 20.95%.

Farnell consistently outperforms its nearby district peers, achieving proficiency rates in the 70-80% range across core subjects, while schools like Davidsen Middle School and Hill Middle School often fall below 50%. A key differentiator is Farnell's near-perfect performance in advanced high-school level math courses, with 97% proficiency in Algebra 1 and 100% in Geometry End-of-Course exams—results that rival top magnet schools like Walker Middle Magnet School. The school also boasts a low chronic absenteeism rate of 20.6%, significantly better than the district average of 31.3% and far lower than Webb Middle School at 47.5%, suggesting a highly engaged student body and positive school climate.

Interestingly, Farnell's academic profile—low poverty, high test scores, and low absenteeism—is more similar to high-performing schools in the neighboring Pinellas County district, such as Palm Harbor Middle School and East Lake Middle School Academy of Engineering, than to its own district neighbors. Despite having the lowest per-student spending among its Hillsborough peers at $8,235, Farnell achieves the highest results, indicating efficient resource use and strong community support. However, a consistent pattern across all schools is a sharp drop in 7th-grade math proficiency—Farnell saw a decline from 81% in 6th grade to 50% in 7th grade—though its scores still surpass those of nearby schools like Sergeant Paul R Smith Middle School.

Open Quote Most of these ratings especially through " great schools ", are " heavily censored", so the ratings are substantially LOWER. This school claims to be a 5 STAR rating, but what that really means " we made the cut for more Funding, so we dont have to lay off teachsters ". This school leaves many Students behind at the expense of the Old F-CAT, now in favor of the new "COMMON CORE" propaganda being pushed by the TEACHERS UNION. This new Method of Propaganda Studies does nothing but turn Students and Teachers into ZOMBIES, by CENSORING Educational Value in favor of Communist Propaganda. In other words, they learn GARBAGE, and this school is that benefactor. As for the Teachers, Zombies......mostly Slaves to the Adgenda as are the STAFF Principal herein "the fuhrer". SO, if your looking for a Good Communist Education based on CENSORSHIP, FARNELL aka "Stalag 13" is your commandant. Close Quote
