Teton County School District #1 has seven elementary schools serving the Jackson-area community, with enrollments ranging from 10 to 355 students. Across reported 2025–2026 results, school-grade averages in ELA, math and fourth-grade science are all above the corresponding state averages; the clearest overall standout is Wilson Elementary, which leads the group across nearly every reported subject and grade.
Wilson has the strongest broad results: its ELA scores range from 84.9% to 90.9%, about 22–24 points above other schools’ same-grade averages, and its fourth-grade science score of 93.6% is 28.7 points above the other reported schools’ average. Colter Elementary is another strong choice, exceeding state results in all seven reported tests. At the lower end, Munger Mountain is below the state in ELA by 0.1 to 3.9 points, while Jackson Elementary has the lowest reported fourth- and fifth-grade math results; its fifth-grade score is 55.3%, 5.7 points below the state. Kelly Elementary posts above-state results in its reported fourth-grade subjects, but those scores do not show its full schoolwide picture.
Results are improving overall among the four schools with comparable scores: their average change was +4.7 points, compared with a +3.2-point state change. Munger Mountain and Jackson made substantial average gains, while Colter averaged a 5.6-point decline despite strong current results; Wilson averaged a 6.3-point increase. SchoolDigger’s statewide ranks also shifted: Wilson moved from 7th to 1st, while Colter moved from 6th to 17th. Context varies too: reported 2024–2025 free/reduced-lunch eligibility was 6.3% at Wilson and 47.3% at Munger Mountain, and student-teacher ratios were 11.8 and 10.0, respectively; these are observations, not explanations for achievement. Some results are suppressed or reported as minimums, and year-to-year scores reflect different tested groups of students.
