As a former teacher at Montcalm High School, I can say without hesitation that the students there were some of the best-behaved and most respectful kids I have ever taught. Montcalm is a small community, but there are a lot of really good people there who care about each other and their kids.

I also wish people would remember that test scores don't always tell the whole story. Some of these kids come to school worried about things kids shouldn't have to worry about. When a school is helping provide food, clothes, and basic necessities for students who aren't always getting those things at home, there is a much bigger picture than a number on a test.

The people at MHS do so much more than teach. They look out for these kids, love them, push them, and make sure they have what they need. If I had to choose anywhere to teach, I would choose MHS, and it is the only school where I still choose to substitute. That probably says more than anything else I could write. I will always have a special place in my heart for Montcalm and the students and staff there. Close Quote
