There is no elementary school within city limits, so younger students commute to nearby towns.

The standout is Sherman Junior High School, which has surged to 31st out of 161 middle schools statewide (81st percentile) and earned a 4-star rating—the only school in Seth above 1 star. Its students dramatically outperform both district and state averages in English Language Arts (66.3% proficient vs. 47.6% statewide) and math (46.0% vs. 39.4% statewide). However, a troubling pattern emerges within the junior high: proficiency falls sharply as grade level rises, with 6th-grade math at 65.5% plummeting to just 23.2% by 8th grade.
