Spencer Junior High/High is a combined 6–12 school serving 329 students in the small rural community of Spencer, Wisconsin, part of the Spencer School District. The district ranks 317th of 432 Wisconsin districts (27th percentile, 1 star), and the school ranked 388th of 533 schools in 2025–2026 (27th percentile, 1 star) — a sharp drop from 3 stars and the 63rd percentile the year before. Prior years include 2 stars in 2023–2024, 1 star in 2022–2023, and 2 stars in 2021–2022. With only 329 students and small subgroups, one cohort can move results dramatically, so a single-year drop should be read cautiously.

Completion is the clearest bright spot. In 2024–2025 Spencer's graduation rate was 98.0% (state 92.0%) and its dropout rate 0.3% (state 1.1%) — comparable to Edgar High (98.0%), Auburndale High (98.1%) and Stratford High (98.4%), above Marshfield High (92.8%) and far above Greenwood High (88.8%). Chronic absenteeism was 14.9%, below the state's 17.3% but above the district's 11.1% and above Stratford (3.6%), Marshfield (6.5%), Granton High (8.3%) and Auburndale (8.8%).

Academics are mixed. Eighth-grade math (64.10% vs 53.67% state) and 6th- and 8th-grade ELA are above state, but 7th-grade ELA, 6th- and 7th-grade math, 8th-grade science (33.33% vs 51.86%), 10th-grade social studies (30.43% vs 48.25%) and all three ACT subjects are below state. Science is a persistent weakness — 8th-grade science fell below state in all four comparison years. ACT results beat the lowest local districts but trail Edgar, Stratford, Marshfield and sometimes Greenwood. Per-student spending ($15,998) and class size (14.5) are mid-pack locally, so resources don't obviously explain the gaps. Because the school also serves grades 6–8, its middle-school results aren't directly comparable to high-school-only neighbors.
