Summary

Clovis Grove Elementary is a PK–4 school at 974 9th St in Menasha, Wisconsin, serving about 448 students as the largest of the four traditional elementary schools in the Menasha Joint School District. In 2025–2026 it ranked 572nd of 1,039 Wisconsin elementary schools — the 45th percentile, or 2 stars — a big rebound from the prior year's 1-star rating.

Within Menasha, Clovis Grove Elementary is clearly the strongest traditional elementary: it ranked at the 45th percentile, while Gegan Elementary, Butte des Morts Elementary, and Banta Bilingual Elementary each landed around the 22nd–24th percentile. It also leads its district in five of six tested subject areas and beats the district average in every subject by roughly 4 to 11 points. It does this while spending the least per student in the district ($15,936) and running the largest classes. Chronic absenteeism, at 11.9%, is below both the district and the state and has improved for several years running.

The 2025–2026 year was a genuine turnaround: scores rose sharply in 4th-grade science and social studies and 3rd-grade reading, putting the school roughly at the state average in several subjects after trailing statewide in every subject the year before. Compared with nearby schools in the Appleton Area School District, results are more mixed — Berry Elementary and Fox River Academy outscore Clovis Grove but serve far fewer students from low-income families, while Jefferson Elementary, with a similar low-income population, ranks much lower. The main concerns: results for low-income students, English learners, and some other groups remain in the bottom third statewide; science and social studies trail the state; and the school has historically hovered near the middle of the pack rather than the top. Note that 5th grade left the building in 2025–2026, so year-over-year comparisons are not perfectly like-for-like.
