Summary

Dimensions of Learning Academy is a public charter elementary school serving 218 students in grades K-8 in Kenosha, Wisconsin, which is part of the Kenosha School District. The school generally outperforms the district and state in academic proficiency, particularly in English Language Arts and Mathematics for grades 3-8. However, the school has experienced relatively high chronic absenteeism rates in recent years, which could be an area of concern.

Compared to nearby schools in the Kenosha School District, such as Frank Elementary, Brass Community School, and McKinley Elementary, Dimensions of Learning Academy has significantly higher proficiency rates in English Language Arts and Mathematics. This suggests the school is providing a stronger academic foundation for its students compared to the surrounding schools.

While the school's performance for its Hispanic student population is in the top 25% of Wisconsin elementary schools, it struggles with the performance of its female and white student populations, ranking in the bottom 50% of the state. The school's spending per student and student-teacher ratio are on par with the nearby district schools, indicating that the school is not significantly under or overfunded compared to its peers.

Open Quote Through my profession I'm in touch with many students. I'm amazed by the number of children telling me that they are all A students. When asked about homework these same children tell me they never have any. How is that possible? My children attend DOLA and they do have homework! And they do perform well on state testing... and they are encouraged, and motivated, and driven to succeed. The staff is amazing especially the middle school teachers. The administration lives for this school. Parents are involved. I feel very lucky that my children attend Dimensions. Close Quote
