Jones Elementary is a PK–6 school in Cudahy, Wisconsin, serving 171 students as part of the Cudahy School District in a suburban Milwaukee-area community. In 2025–26, Jones ranked 830th of 1,039 Wisconsin elementary schools — the 20th percentile, with a 1-star rating — and it is the lowest-ranked of the Cudahy elementary schools, below Lincoln Elementary, Kosciuszko Elementary, and Mitchell Elementary, all of which received 2 stars. That marks a steep reversal: as recently as 2018–19 and 2020–21, Jones ranked in the 80th–84th percentile with 4 stars.
Test scores in 2025–26 were below both the district and the state in nearly every reported area. Averaged across grades, about 37.2% of Jones students were proficient in English language arts, compared with roughly 50.5% across the Cudahy School District and 53.6% statewide; in math, about 30.3% were proficient, versus roughly 40.9% districtwide and 53.3% statewide. Chronic absenteeism was 14.5% in 2024–25 — lower than Wisconsin's 17.3% and far below the Cudahy district's 30.7%, and much better than same-district peers Lincoln (35.6%), Kosciuszko (34.8%), and Mitchell (22.1%). Jones also has the smallest classes (student-teacher ratio 11.8), the highest per-student spending ($17,299), and a lower free/reduced-lunch rate (50.88%) than its Cudahy peers. Yet nearby E W Luther Elementary in South Milwaukee, with similar size, similar attendance, lower poverty, and slightly lower spending, ranks at the 73rd percentile with 4 stars, and Blakewood Elementary outperforms Jones as well. That suggests Jones's challenge is instructional rather than a matter of class size or attendance — with math and upper-grade reading the clearest priorities.
