As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Poorly administered high school survives through the hard work of several talented veteran teachers, coaches, and an excellent high school jazz band. Violence, gang activity, and drug use are everyday happenings at school. Very few resources for gifted or talented students. The school offers a number of AP courses but allows any student to enroll them and has received poor results. The principal and district school board have been enmeshed in petty infighting and minor scandals to the detriment of students. Close Quote

Open Quote Beloit Memorial is one of the best High School's in the state, even though your rankings do not support this. As one of the few High School's in WI that is the most diverse, that brings challenges to the end results, but the school itself is top notch and provides a top education for the students attending BMHS. Beloit Memorial is one of the few High School's that provide a high number of AP courses and their music program is one of the best around. I heave heard over the years that the BMHS Pep Band is the best in WI, which I have to agree.

#'s do not always rank school's correct - in my mind BMHS should be ranked in the Top 10 - a top notch school Close Quote

Open Quote Avoid this pitiful excuse for an educational experience at all costs. The teachers are lazy, the administration is heavy handed an unengaged, they are more interested in the finer things available to schools rather than really educating kids. Why else would you build a brand new 4-8 grade school on the busiest highway in town (15,000 + car and trucks a day) that every student has to cross? The test scores tell all about this school and district. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
