Janesville School District has four high schools serving grades 9–12 — Craig High, Parker High, Rock River Charter School, and Rock University High — enrolling about 3,032 students, with the district rated 257th of 432 in Wisconsin (41st percentile, 2 stars).

The schools differ sharply. Rock University High is the standout: ranked 3rd of 533 statewide (99th percentile, 5 stars), with a 100% graduation rate, 0% dropout, and 2025-2026 proficiency of 89.47% in Social Studies, 95.24% in ELA, 76.19% in Math, and 71.43% in Science. It is tiny, though, at 93 students, so results can swing. Craig High is the most improved, rising from the 13th percentile in 2023-2024 to the 65th percentile in 2025-2026 (3 stars), with a 97.4% graduation rate. Parker High sits near the district average (41st percentile, 2 stars), but has the highest chronic absenteeism at 30.0%, versus 25.5% at Craig, 17.7% at Rock University, and 16.7% at Rock River Charter. Parents should note two wider patterns. First, the district’s relative strength is ELA (50.41%, above the state’s 48.47%), while Social Studies, Math, and Science trail the state; Science is the weakest at 36.3% versus 43.2%. Both Craig and Parker improved in Social Studies, ELA, and Math year over year but dipped slightly in Science.
