Open Quote After my 8 year old daughter grew so frustrated with the classroom chaos of her old school that she wanted to quit school altogether, we decided to move her over to a private school. Boy did we luck out. One year later, in 4th grade, she tested at a 12th grade level in reading and 83rd percentile in math, and loves school again. We moved our son over as well and, after getting over the initial jolt of the increased behavioral expectations, he's really enjoying the experience and is clearly becoming interested in learning, The afterschool care and sports programs make it much easier on families where both parents work. Also, contrary to what I expected, the parent community is really down to earth and we've made some great friends. Overall we couldn't be happier with our experience. Close Quote

Open Quote This school has been wonderful for both of our children and our family.

Despite our family not being Catholic (more than half of the school is not Catholic), the community is welcoming and vibrant both of students and their families.

One of my favorite aspects of the school is the relationship between the younger and older students and the respect they have for each other. The little ones look up to the older ones and the older ones take care of and watch out for the little ones.

In addition, the level of confidence and maturity of the kids who graduate from St. Ben’s is impressive and unmatched. The school prepares students for high school academically as well as socially.

I am so happy we are a part of this school and this community. Close Quote

Open Quote If you can afford this school (though it's certainly not the most expensive private school in the neighborhood) and have the time to participate in fundraiser/volunteer duties then I'd highly recommend, at least from our pre-k experience. If you're low-income, you should apply for scholarship to attend--it's a really comfortable, laid back, creative, responsible, respectful community. My now 5-yr-old has blossomed this past year due to the supportive and loving environment there. We will try for public school for kindergarten next year and go back if it doesn't go well.
