Summary

Crystal Springs Elementary is a public Pre-K through 5th grade school serving about 500 students in Bothell, WA, as part of the highly-regarded Northshore School District.

The school stands out for its diverse student population and its remarkable effectiveness in supporting specific student groups, ranking in the 91st percentile statewide for English Language Learners. While its overall test scores are solid and outperform state averages—especially in science—they are somewhat lower than some neighboring schools like Fernwood Elementary or Canyon Creek Elementary, which serve fewer students from lower-income families. However, Crystal Springs has shown impressive improvement, climbing from the 67th to the 81st percentile in statewide ranking over the past three years.

For families, Crystal Springs represents a compelling choice that balances academic quality with a commitment to equity. It achieves strong results for its student population with mid-level per-student spending compared to nearby schools, and its science program is a particular strength. The school offers a different value proposition than some peers; it excels at helping all students grow, making it an excellent option for those who value a diverse and supportive learning community within a top district.

Open Quote Many of the teachers have been at Crystal Springs close to their entire careers - once they work at our school they don't want to leave. The families and the teachers are wonderful and almost everyone attends the PTA events & parties. My children are thriving at Crystal Springs and love going to school. I would highly recommend Crystal Springs. Close Quote
