Summary

Clark Elementary is a K-5 public school serving 586 students in the highly-regarded Issaquah School District, consistently earning a 4-star rating while educating a more economically diverse student body than many of its neighbors.

The school serves a community with greater economic needs—over 28% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch, a rate nearly triple that of schools like Discovery Elementary—yet achieves solid academic results that significantly outpace state averages. While its overall proficiency in English and math is slightly below the district average, Clark excels in science and shows a remarkable, consistent upward trend in its statewide ranking. A standout strength is its exceptional support for English Language Learners, where it ranks in the top 7% of schools statewide.

Compared to nearby schools such as Cougar Ridge Elementary and Endeavour Elementary School, Clark operates with a lower per-student budget despite its higher-needs population, yet maintains a favorable student-teacher ratio. Its performance is very similar to its closest neighbor, Issaquah Valley Elementary, suggesting shared community characteristics. The school's story is one of effectively supporting a diverse range of learners within a top-tier district.

Open Quote My daughter had wonderful 3 years in this school and she will always miss the teachers and all the student oriented activities that this school had all the year around. We recently moved out to another state but find ourselves always talking about the friendly, open and encouraging atmosphere this school provides to all. Close Quote
